Prototype Machinist

This is a hands-on position primarily machining with some assembly duties. The position supports the Prototype Engineer for quick response on prototyping needs for customer projects. CNC and manual machining skills will be needed in this position. This is a fast-paced job with variety in projects.

 

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

 

  • Ability to program in CAM software (Fusion 360 preferred)
  • Ability to operate a CNC mill, CNC lathe, manual lathe and other typical machine shop tooling
  • Ability to use common measuring tools to verify part dimensions. The machinist is responsible for QA on all parts
  • Ability to use chop saw to cut aluminum extrusion
  • Maintain clean and safe work environment that is presentable to customers
  • Manage assigned projects daily that will vary from each day based on the workload
  • Manage time and tasks to complete projects meeting or exceeding the customer delivery requirements
  • Safety mentality and commitment to that safety on all tools required
  • Ability to learn new processes and skills as needed
  • Attention to detail to ensure functionality and quality of products
  • Good communication and team player mentality needed for success
  • Run errands on occasion. This includes picking up tooling, taking chips to recycle, picking up material, etc.

 

 

Qualifications/Experience:

 

  • Familiar with HAAS controller
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Machining background with hands on experience required
