This person will be under the supervision of the Engineered Solution (ES) value add group and will report to the Design Engineering Manager. The ES group designs, builds, and delivers small to large automation solutions to every industry segment and company size in the U.S. Our “solutions” can range from a custom cable to a full robotic automated system. In addition to the custom design efforts, the ES team manages a build- to-print offering that capitalizes on our engineering expertise, project management, manufacturing, and quality systems. These efforts are fast paced, concurrent, require agility, and love of process.

 

The Configuration Support Specialist role is that of a key contributor to the Engineered Solution team’s success.  Specifically, you will own the documentation process as it flows from engineering to supply chain, quality, manufacturing, and the customer. This position calls for a well-organized, detail-oriented individual, who enjoys a variety of concurrent assignments while working across multiple business applications. It requires enthusiasm, flexibility, resiliency, excellent oral and written communication skills, and a professional and courteous personality.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Create, release, and configure bill of material (BOM) with appropriate multilevel structuring and grouping based on input from engineering, manufacturing, and customers
  • Upload BOMs to the ERP system
  • Conduct physical line audits to confirm BOM accuracy 
  • Review and implement ECO’s to maintain BOMs to the latest revisions
  • Work with production, supply chain, program management, and engineering to audit and maintain an accurate BOM throughout the product lifecycle
  • Drive timely ECO reviews, BOM updates, and documentation release
  • Work with the team to ensure up-to-date documents are available at point of use, including management of as-built documentation
  • Assist with RFQ and proposal for build-to-print assemblies
  • Other project support activities and responsibilities as assigned

 

Qualifications/Experience

  • BA or BS degree and/or minimum 3 years’ experience in document control or configuration management, preferably in an electronic and/or contract manufacturing environment
  • Experience in processing engineering, production, and document changes
  • Hands-on ERP/MRP system experience; knowledge and experience in Syspro is preferred
  • Knowledge or experience using SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM a plus
  • Knowledge of multilevel bill of material hierarchy and product release cycle as it relates to the creation and change management of parts and BOM structures
  • Excellent written, oral communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work with a high workload with interruptions and deadlines
  • Must have a service-oriented attitude to all levels of personnel
