Material Handler I

Olympus Controls is seeking a qualified individual who will support the Production Team’s efforts to build products and provide services to our clients. The Material Handler I is a highly organized, detail-oriented individual who efficiently uses their time while setting a high standard for safety and quality. They should have a desire to learn and grow in the fields of material handling, internal & external logistics and shipping and receiving. The Material Handler I is a key member of a cross-trained warehouse team who can assist in other areas when needed.

 

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Pull material and deliver completed job kits to appropriate locations on the production floor
  • Quickly respond to material requests from the production floor
  • Label completed assemblies and accurately report their location in the ERP system
  • Perform daily cycle counts
  • Replenish floor stock and Kanban bins as needed
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Maintain Olympus Controls’ high-quality standards and values
  • Participate in daily stand-up meetings with the Operations Team
  • Step in to alleviate bottlenecks when needed on the warehouse floor
  • Use pallet jack to place/retrieve material from pallet racking
  • Promptly report material shortages to the Materials Team or Operations Manager
  • Maintain correct inventory levels and locations, and promptly report discrepancies
  • Cross-trained as Shipping & Receiving Clerk I

 

 

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Entry level; prior warehouse experience in Materials or Shipping and Receiving preferred
  • An eye for detail to ensure that material transactions are accurately reported
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs
  • Strong communication skills
  • Can quickly adapt to changing priorities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows & Office applications
