As a Production Manager, you will be responsible for managing a diverse and talented team of Assemblers and Technicians. Your primary goal is to properly organize the team and processes to optimize workflow throughout the day. Your position will also include working with the Manufacturing and Design Engineers to ensure that incoming projects have the appropriate resources. This position includes setting and communicating work priorities, coordinating and tracking training for your team, and implementing and maintaining 5S principles with the goal of developing a high-performance team in a dynamic production setting.

 

This position calls for a well-organized person who enjoys working with people and technology. This job requires excellent communication skills, both oral and written, basic Microsoft Office applications proficiency, and a professional and courteous personality. The preferred candidate will have an aptitude toward problem solving and coaching with interest in future growth.

 

 

General Duties/Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage a dynamic team of 20+ assemblers and technicians
  • Collaborate with the planning, engineering, and material handling groups to ensure an efficient production flow
  • Collaborate with cross-discipline teams to mitigate any roadblocks to efficient production
  • Clearly communicate priorities to production team and any impacts to production schedule to appropriate stakeholders
  • Responsible for timely execution of the interviewing, hiring, and training process for new employees
  • Conduct annual performance reviews for production team
  • Manage production resource schedules, time off requests, etc.
  • Support team development by identifying and facilitating growth and training opportunities
  • Identify and procure production consumables to ensure reliable supplies
  • Identify and implement cost-saving strategies
  • Enforce company policies, ensure appropriate processes related to safety and quality are established and followed
  • Effective problem solving, troubleshooting, and conflict resolution
  • Ensure compliance with professional standards such as OSHA
  • Help drive continuous improvement according to LEAN and 5S manufacturing principles
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Compile and analyze production statistics, which may include on time delivery (OTD) and quality non-conformances

 

 

Qualifications/Experience:

 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment (electromechanical systems a plus)
  • Experience as a technician working with electromechanical manufacturing highly preferred
  • Controls experience highly preferred (configuring drives, uploading software, etc)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to track expenses and compile budget reports
  • Strong understanding of production planning processes and ERP/MRP systems required
  • Able to deal with complex issues in a fast-paced setting
  • Experience implementing and sustaining 5S and/or LEAN manufacturing principles required
  • 2+ years of education after high school preferred; Bachelor’s degree highly preferred
  • 40 hours per week minimum
