Applied Industrial Technologies is an extensive network of industrial distribution facilities located throughout Canada. We are currently seeking and have an immediate opening for a qualified and motivated individual to fill the position of IT Asset and Procurement Specialist. This position will be located at our branch located in Downsview ON Canada.


Reporting to the IT Manager, Canada, this role is responsible for overseeing and managing Canadian IT Assets, coordinating project phases from design to installation, and acting as liaison between Global IT groups, Canadian business teams, and users while working closely with Global IT to achieve strategic goals.



  • Assign and track physical assets and licenses
  • Participate in asset audit and reconciliation tasks
  • Expedite deliveries on select products.
  • Complete reports and special projects.
  • Preparing Forecasts and Budgets for IT Procurement requirements
  • IT Inventory Management – Shipping, Receiving and Reconciliations
  • Assist with physical inventory audits, reconciliations, and process improvement assessments.
  • Update existing process documentation and prepare control documentation, flowcharts, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge of IT procurement, contracts, purchasing processes, workflows, and best practices.
  • Handle and reconcile receiving and invoice issues as required.
  • Assist tech support with user issues as needed.
  • Create and place purchase orders for IT products and services.


Minimum requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Associate degree preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with peers, executive managers, and vendors
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and thrive in a multi-project environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical, planning and program solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems, determine appropriate actions and complete projects with little direction.
  • Bilingualism French/English an asset
  • General knowledge of Windows and JIRA preferred


Prior experience with the following would be an asset:


  • Microsoft Technologies (Exchange, Server OS, SQL)
  • Virtualization (VMware, Citrix)
  • Network Fundamentals
  • Active Directory
  • Working within a budget
