As an Application Designer in the Technical Services & Project Management Team, you will be responsible for developing innovative motion control solutions, managing risk for projects, and working with or leading the project team to complete the sale of the solution. The ideal candidate must be experienced, result driven and team focused.

 

Accountabilities:

  • Take ownership of the development of solutions from concept to completion
  • Collaborate with teams across the organization, as well as vendors to develop and deliver solutions to customers
  • Create/ manage technical documents and files
  • Provide support and expertise during project commissioning and aftermarket
  • Provide internal and external consultation on projects
  • Utilize your expertise of fluid power & power transmission applications to support sales growth
  • Stay up to date on the latest technologies while looking for opportunities to enhance Applied’s product and service offerings
  • Create quotes & proposals for projects
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Requirements and competencies: 

  • Mechanical Aptitude (3-5 years of experience)
  • P. ENG, CET, EIT or MET in relevant discipline preferred
  • CFPHS (Certified Fluid Power Hydraulic Specialist) would be an asset
  • Experience using 2D & 3D CAD software (Autocad & Inventor)
  • Strong knowledge in Fluid Power would be an asset Understanding of electrical integration in relevant technologies would be an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and follow complex projects with many stakeholders involved
  • Driven by team results Innovative mindset
  • Strong communication & presentation skills
  • Ability to manage time and be agile on projects
  • Willingness and ability to travel
