Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

 

  • Locate vendors of materials, equipment or supplies, and interview them in order to determine product availability and terms of sales.
  • Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment.
  • Coordinate activities of personnel engaged in buying, selling, and distributing materials, equipment, and supplies.
  • Respond to customer and supplier inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations.
  • Contact suppliers in order to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other problems.
  • Identifies and selects vendor to procure requisitioned commodities, meeting criteria such as price, quantity, quality and delivery date and places orders.
  • Accurately maintain unit cost and Price in ERP system.
  • Drive standardization and methodology for item setup and review, and management for the Inventory department.
  • Work with Accounting Department to ensure timely resolution to invoice discrepancies for prompt payment.

 

Essential Mental Functions:

  • Superior analytical and math skills; able to deal with extremely detail oriented documents.
  • Familiarity in a high level vendor environment dealing with 100,000+ SKU’s.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to relate to all levels of employees within the organization, as well as customers, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Ability to see “big picture” within a growing organization while focusing on company expectations and continuously striving for improvement.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, namely Excel & Outlook.
  • Strict adherence to Corporate rules, policies, and regulations.

     

Preferred Education/Experience:

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience required; Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred.  Operations Management w/ Inventory emphasis, Industrial Distribution/Logistics, or Accounting/Finance strongly desired.
  • Minimum 1-3+ years’ experience in a Purchasing role required; preferably in an Industrial Distribution environment.
  • Prior experience with Process Flow Control strongly desired; namely Valves, Instrumentation, and Actuators.
  • Prior budgeting experience strongly desired.
  • Proven ability to provide maximum operational efficiency.
