Techinical Support Specialist

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Quote and enter orders for company products and services through direct contact with customers and vendors in a fast paced and multi-tasking environment.
  • Provide solutions based selling through solving customer problems/applications, quoting product, and coordinating product delivery.
  • Maintain responsibility of orders from quotation to collection:
    • Select and specify products utilizing a variety of FCX and vendor supplied tools/software.
    • Responds to customer inquiries.
    • Processes customers’ orders and send order acknowledgements.
    • Review customer purchase orders for special conditions/documentation
    • Follows-up with vendors to ensure timely delivery.
    • Increases order volume by suggesting related items, explaining product features, and checking customer’s buying history.
  • Promote and maintains effective working relationships with suppliers, customers, and Hughes Machinery Outside Sales Representatives.
  • Negotiate pricing and delivery with vendors when necessary. Work as a team with Outside Salesrep in soliciting business, executing order transactions and maintaining superior customer service levels.
  • Communicate effectively and participates positively as a member of the Branch/Division inside sales team (e.g. sharing work load, taking incoming phone calls, supporting the division, etc.)
  • Maximize gross margin by ensuring that each project is paid in full, and provide superior service, problem solving, and technical expertise.
  • Resolve customer issues such as warranty claims, product returns, credit and collection, and other customer service issues.
  • Other duties as assigned by Management.


Preferred Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • 1-3+ years’ experience in Customer Service related Industry preferred, experience in an Inside Technical Sales/Customer Service/Application Engineer role with an Industrial Distributor a plus.
