Director of Sales

The Sales Director will serve as part of FCX’s management team and will energize, motivate, and drive sales teams to create sales growth and increase the profitability of the assigned sales division.  Travel requirements will be dependent on area of responsibility.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist the AVP and/or RVP in managing the sales process of assigned sales division, by developing strategies that exceed the assigned sales volume and gross profit objectives. 
  • Develop and implement sales tactics that supports the division’s objectives; with an ability to profitably grow market share, and develop account managers, with minimal oversight.
  • Provide leadership for the division’s outside sales team to include coaching, performance improvement and personal career development while holding all sales reps accountable to exceed targets for sales activity, market penetration, vendor sales, and gross profit generation.
  • Assist in the tactical execution of the divisional sales plan that will exceed the division’s assigned budget; create plans for improvement, as needed; implement growth strategies by division, branch, sales territory, vendor, customer and end market.  
  • Routinely perform joint sales calls with FCX account managers to optimize their effectiveness in field. Manage the development plans of each Outside Sales Rep.
  • Driving growth through focused sales activity that results in increased account and market penetration
    • New Outside Sales Representatives
      • Provide the technical support necessary to penetrate accounts and close opportunities, as well as guide professional development
    • Experienced Outside Sales Representatives
      • Provide strategic direction and technical support necessary to penetrate accounts and close opportunities.
    • Building strong relationships with the top 20% of customers in the division.
  • Collaborate with all levels of FCX management including:
  • Manage key division vendor relationships; exceed vendor sales targets.
  • Ensure compliance from sales team members, in the regular use of all sales tools
