Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Lead Inside Sales Staff and Operations Associates in the achievement of operational efficiency.
  • Work with Sales Management and Purchasing to branch product availability to meet customer requests.
  • Lead Inside Sales staff in the development of consistent order management process.
  • Consistently coaches team members on superb customer service skills.
  • Orchestrate existing training programs to entire Inside Sales staff to maintain the highest technical expertise in the industry.
  • Identify and analyze process improvement opportunities and implement changes.
  • Ensure the timeliness, quality and effectiveness of all processes performed within the Branch.
  • Resolve customer issues. Identify common issues or failures and design processes to prevent future service issues.
  • Effectively manage Location Quality Assurance Programs
  • Collaborate with Inside/Outside Sales and Operations teams to ensure alignment of overall business and financial objectives.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by developing knowledgeable Inside Technical Sales associates, who are proactive and responsive.
  • Partner with sales leadership to identify and remove barriers to the success of the Inside and Outside Sales function.
  • Maximize gross profit opportunities.
  • Selection – Determine resource needs profiles and skills. Work with HR to secure appropriate approvals.
  • Performance Management – Develop goals and tools to measure individual and team performance. Provide formal & informal feedback and coaching to assigned team members to maximize performance.
  • Development – Ensure Inside Technical Sales Associates have the tools, knowledge and experience needed to grow their individual capabilities. Identify and develop high potential Inside Technical Sales associates into our next generation of leaders.

Essential Physical Functions/Equipment Used:

  • Must be able to work off hours and/or travel on a short notice basis based on business needs.
  • Must be able to use standard office equipment proficiently, including but not limited to: desktop computer, phone system, printer, copier, fax machine, scanner, etc.
  • Previous experience with Prophet 21 or other Distribution/CRM software highly beneficial.

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Able to coach, counsel and develop employees.
  • Ability to relate to all levels of employees within the organization, as well as customers, vendors and suppliers.
  • Ability to see “big picture” within a growing organization while focusing on company expectations and continuously striving for improvement.

Preferred Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required; degree in Operations Management, Industrial Distribution, or Business Administration with a focus on Operations strongly desired.
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in an Operations/Inside Sales role required; preferably in an Industrial Distribution environment.
  • 2+ years prior Management experience required.
  • Prior experience with Process Instrumentation strongly desired.
  • Prior budgeting experience strongly desired.
  • Proven ability to provide maximum operational efficiency.

Work Environment:

  • Office consists of a modern, multi-function office environment with attached Warehouse/Distribution Center.
  • Normal working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday; additional hours as required.
  • Direct supervision of other employees, ranging anywhere from 5-15 depending on location.
