FCX Performance, a division of Applied Industrial Technologies, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Strategic Accounts team to work at plant locations throughout N. Oregon, Washington, and part of Idaho. 

In this role, you’ll get to apply your engineering expertise as a subject matter expert in process systems with a core focus on pumps, valves, instrumentation and other fluid processing components. 

Use your consultative selling approach to learn about your customers' applications and needs, working with the customer at all levels within their organization. You may also introduce opportunities to improve business processes and results they hadn’t yet thought of. In each case, you will help specify and select pumps and other equipment. You will also work with FCX & Applied local sales teams as well as corporate departments to develop and execute programs for the customer.

•    Perform a day to day review of current product usage and effectiveness among all customer plant locations. .
•    Plan, implement, and execute targeted programs to enhance efficiency, pinpoint product failures/recommend new product to reduce downtime due to product failure, and determine opportunities for product consolidation
•    Create and present technical engineering presentations to customer’s about value added process improvements 
•    Collect and identify engineering data with the customer to size, select and quote process equipment.   
•    Work with service centers and customer to expedite orders.
•    Work with customer’s to rationalize and reduce inventory through substitutions and consolidation.
•    Provide product sourcing assistance and continually pursue products within our scope of supply.
•    Resolve, monitor, and track all product warranty issues with the service center.
•    Generate, document, track cost savings achieved by Applied and documented value add to our customers.

•    2 yr degree required. Engineering degree preferred.
•    2+ yrs proven experience in process engineering or sales engineering
•    Experience in developing new business, building repeat business, and managing a sales territory
•    Relationship-building skills at all levels with customers and prospect organizations
•    Knowledge of value add propositions and service
•    Ability to provide hands-on product demonstrations for customers and prospects; mechanical aptitude
•    Written and verbal communication skills, including English grammar
•    Strong computer skills, including Excel
•    Problem solving, multi-tasking, sales building, resilience, sense of urgency, sense of humor
•    Motivated, results driven to meet / exceed KPIs short and long term
•    Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record are essential

•    Experience in a related FCX product group – pumps, seals, compressors.
