Overall P&L responsibility for the performance of 3 hydraulic service and repair shops, located in Gillette, Billings and Boise. This includes managing budget process, business and people development, proactive outside sales, customer service, shop and repair services, to meet / exceed corporate KPIs and metrics. 25% travel is required.

Spencer Fluid Power performs large repairs and service work on complex hydraulic cylinders, pumps, motors, valves, and assemblies. Repairs require welding, machining, and specific rebuild procedures.

Shop Responsibilities

  • Manage / develop multiple shops personnel, scheduling and outcomes. 
  • Recruit, hire, train and develop new and current associates.
  • Develop, maintain, and identify/implement processes & metrics to meet customer needs and company standards. This includes welding, honing, running lathes, end mills and other machine tools.
  • Manage supplier and large customer relationships.
  • Active leadership in the company’s Total Quality Management practices, specific focus on improved customer satisfaction by improved worker safety, reduced cycle times and improved profitability.

Sales Responsibilities

  • Lead outside salespeople / team to develop additional business with existing and new customers.
  • Meet / exceed business KPIs and objectives
  • Manage margins through value proposition understanding, and communicating inside and outside of the organization.
  • Schedule training for new products and services, create target accounts to ensure success in new product and services growth.
  • Identify key markets or products for long term growth. Create sales and marketing campaigns to create demand and overall customer awareness.
  • Assist with large orders and large customers. Manage annual contracts associated. Make regular visits to large customers with the sales rep.


  • 3+ yrs managing multiple locations in industrial sales / service environment
  • Process improvement experience and sales/profit growth
  • 3+ yrs management experience
  • High school diploma required. 2 yr technical or 4 yr degree preferred
  • Machine shop service and repair management experience a plus
