We are seeking a skilled Purchasing Associate and Project Manager to join the S.G. Morris Co., an Applied Industrial Technologies company. This professional will be responsible for handling the procurement of products and assisting the project management team using our state-of-the-art system.

 

As a Purchasing Associate, you will perform a variety of duties required. Your duties will include: 

  • Update, verify, change and complete purchase requisitions (buy reports or purchasing requests) by comparing items requested to actual demand, minimum requirements and usage trend
  • Compile technical documents for power unit department

  • Obtain quotes from vendors/suppliers.
  • Responsible for communicating with the sales team/customer service department on backorders.
  • Resolve inventory discrepancy issues with vendors.
  • Complete weekly or daily assigned reports, e.g. negative bin, new item, stock bin, etc.
  • Help maintain ERP system costs in our system.
  • Coordination of returns to suppliers.
  • Assist the project management department

POSITION REQUIREMENTS 

  • Attention to detail: accurate data entry skills, basic math & reading skills
  • Use of proper English grammar, written and verbal
  • Ability to use Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word
  • Intermediate level Microsoft Excel experience 

Preferred: 

  • 6+ months purchasing experience
  • Experience in distribution or manufacturing environment
