S. G. Morris, Co., LLC is seeking a skilled Buyer/Purchasing Associate. Individual will be responsible for the procurement of products using our integrated ERP system.

 

As a Buyer/Purchasing Associate, individual will perform a variety of duties, including but not limited to the following: 

 

  • Generate, review, update and monitor purchase requisitions per forecasted buy reports and departmental requests
  • Analyze actual demand, minimum requirements and usage trends to develop appropriate buy quantities
  • Process vendor acknowledgments and resolve issues
  • Communicate discrepancies, backorders and issues to responsible team members
  • Maintain / update ERP system data
  • Process and monitor inventory stocking requirements and transfer orders between locations
  • Resolve inventory discrepancies and process necessary inventory adjustments
  • Complete daily, weekly and monthly assigned reports
  • Request and process new vendors, vendor quotes, returns, price updates and changes
     

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Attention to detail, accurate data entry skills, basic math & reading skills
  • Use of proper English grammar, both written and verbal
  • Ability to use Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word
  • Intermediate level Microsoft Excel experience

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • 2 to 3 years purchasing experience 
  • Experience in distribution and / or manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in ERP / MRP systems
