Controls Engineer

SG Morris, an Applied Fluid Power subsidiary, is currently looking for a Controls Engineer to join our family. In this role you’ll be assisting our salesforce and use your knowledge to prepare schematics, test procedures and recommend components. Leverage your hands-on experience in your background to play a pivotal role in pleasing our customers and gaining new ones.


We’ll look to you to lead the charge in this area as your work helps to support the industry’s best sales team.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop control scheme estimate quotes based on customer/salesmen descriptions of potential job requirements
  • Select electrical components appropriate for applications (mobile, industrial, environmental, etc.)
  • Develop full electrical project schematics and component BOM to meet application requirements.
  • Program PLC’s and HMI’s
  • Work with shop to ensure wiring is in accordance with project requirements.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues via phone, e-mail and in person on site at customer facilities.
  • Develop panel layouts. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Understanding of layout flow for power and logic wiring isolation
  • Working knowledge of CAD
  • Fluid Power Industry Experience preferred
