What you’ll do:

  • Sets up new customers, including checking credit references and assigning credit limits.
  • Approves orders for release for customers over credit limit or beyond terms.
  • Applies cash received for multiple entities.
  • Balances cash per books to bank on a daily basis for all cash received (ACH, lockbox, credit card).
  • Releases invoice batches and invoices various customers in their required portals.
  • Follows up with customers to resolve past due invoices and deductions.
  • Issues credit /debit memos to customers as needed, primarily for freight/tax issues.
  • Obtains sales tax exempt certificates when applicable and updates Vertex tax software for certificates and certificate files.
  • Communicates with sales and inside sales personnel regarding customer credit issues.
  • Changes salesman assignments within customers per direction from sales manager.
  • Enters data in customer portals as needed (ex. Advance ship notices)
  • Provides various data for month/quarter end and assists controller with ad hoc requests as needed.

 

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Must have High School Diploma or Equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Equivalent to specialized study or training in office techniques such as collections, customer service, and accounting.
  • 3+ years Collections and Cash Application experience
