Bay Advanced Technologies, LLC provides innovative solutions for automation and control applications. We are looking for a Director of Operations to help develop, promote and execute best practices related to Manufacturing, Warehousing and purchasing in all locations. The Director of Operations is responsible for ensuring and improving the performance, productivity, efficiency, proficiency and profitability of Service Centers within their area of responsibility through the provision of effective methods and strategies.

 

General Purpose:  Strategic planning; product design; manufacturing and production documentation control, quality assurance; problem resolution.

 

Role qualifications:

  • Must execute product design to meet company objectives.
  • Must partner with management team to ensure effective product development.
  • Must develop systems and controls to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Must develop systems and procedures to insure efficient manufacturing and production.

 

Position responsibilities:

  • Responsible and accountable for leading, driving, managing and developing associate competencies in operations to ensure growth and profitability and to provide the highest level of Customer service.
  • Develops and directs procedures and methods to ensure that quality standards are met and maintained.
  • Provides engineering expertise in the areas of tooling, prints, specifications, product maintenance, raw materials, and        vended products throughout the organization.
  • Manages manufacturing and production budget.
  • Manages and builds current bill of materials.
  • Manages product realization from date of order entry through date of product shipment.
  • Recommends methods, materials, and layouts for improvement based on manufacturing needs and capabilities
  • Builds, develops, and manages manufacturing, and production team capable of carrying out needed engineering initiatives.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Essential skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, or related field.
  • Leadership: a demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
  • Planning: an ability to think ahead and plan over a one- to two- year time span.
  • Management: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and a functional level.
  • Technical skills in engineering management, quality assurance, and costing.
  • Strong customer orientation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High performance teams and a strong team player.
  • Commitment to company values. 

 

Nonessential skills and experience:

  • MBA or equivalent experience.
  • Experience is value engineering and lean manufacturing environments.
  • Advanced computer proficiency.

 

Reporting to this position:  Newark Operations Manager – directly and will work with other site general managers or operations managers to instill best practices.
