In this role you’ll analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost and labor estimates for metal shop products and projects by applying knowledge of specialized methodologies, techniques, principles and processes used in the industry. You’ll leverage all that hands on experience in your background and put it to good use helping us to please our customers and gain new ones.

We’ll look to you to lead the charge in this area as your work helps to support the industry’s best sales team.

 

Position Responsibilities:

 

  • Prepare cost estimates for product manufacturing to aid management in bid preparation or determining price of product. May specify particular services performed or type of product manufactured.
  • Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
  • Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
  • Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments and production management to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
  • Review material and labor requirements, to decide whether it is more cost-effective to produce in-house or purchase components.
  • Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors.
  • Prepare estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors.
  • Create Bill of Materials and manufacturing Traveler/Routers with detailed technical instructions.
  • Other duties either directly or indirectly related as required.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

             

  • 3+ years experience in Fabricated Materials environment
  • High school diploma or GED

 

 

Desired characteristics:

  • Advanced Computer proficiency
  • Working knowledge of CAD/CAM software such as AutoCAD, AutoDesk, Inventor and Solid Works.
