Fluid Conveyance Product Specialist

HydroAir, a subsidiary of Applied Industrial Technologies, is seeking an Fluid Conveyance Product Specialist. 

 

OBJECTIVE:             To provide technical support and training to our Sales Engineers, Customer Service Representatives, Engineering, and customers through the application of connector products.  The Connector Product Specialist is the point of contact for fluid conveyance opportunities and issues.  He/she is the liaison between our Sales Engineers and other support resources including our Engineering, Suppliers, and Outside Contractors.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sales Support

  • Provide technical assistance to internal and external customers by answering inquiries, locating information, assisting with product selection, and interpreting product information. 
  • Provides presale support to Sales Engineers and customers: including application assessment, proposal preparation and product demonstrations and presentations.
  • Communicates frequently with Sales Engineers, Customer Service Representatives, Engineering, External Customers, and Operations to ensure that they are receiving appropriate and timely information and support.
  • Provides product training to Sales Engineers, Engineering, Customer Service Representatives and Customers
  • Advance the skill sets of the Sales Engineers, Customer Service Representatives, and Engineering.
  • Optimize time and territory management so as to maximize support time with Sales Engineers and customers.
     
    Technical Support
  • Leverages supplier, internal, and external resources when seeking solutions to customer requirements.
  • As required escalates the application to the appropriate technical support resource, while providing all the pertinent information and application notes.
  • Maintains a strong working knowledge of connector products and fluid conveyance.
  • Provides project support to include: specification, product selection, support sales and engineering functions, and cost estimates.
  • Provides remote site technical support as required.
     
  • Attend supplier meetings, training schools and seminars, as assigned. 
  • Maintain appropriate product application knowledge and skills.
     
    Management Support
  • Supports management with supplier issues as required.
  • Monitor all competitive activity and report significant events to management.
  • Continuously advise management on new product ideas or customer driven needs that enhance the company’s competitive position.
  • Provides management with appropriate reports as required.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

               

  • Minimum High School Diploma, preferably AS Degree in technical or business discipline
  • Knowledge of WORD and EXCEL
  • Capable of reading and understanding CAD drawings, AutoCad experience a plus
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written
  • Well organized, detailed oriented and capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Fluid power experience a plus
