With 5 strategic distribution centers, and 500 employee associates across North America, Applied Maintenance Supplies and Solutions stocks 50,000 part numbers to supply our customers with all of their fastener, chemical, welding, and other industrial MRO and OEM parts needs. We are seeking a motivated Supply Chain professional to perform the duties necessary to ehance our logistics network. We are hiring!


At Applied Maintenance Supplies and Solutions, the Material Planner has immediate impact on our Distribution Center’s performance and in customer satisfaction. You’ll join a tight-knit team serving multiple distribution centers, internal associates, and loyal, long-term customers. Productivity and accuracy are key measures for success.




As a Material Planner, you will perform a variety of duties required within our supply chain department. Your duties will include:


  • Research and get quotes and negotiate prices and terms with vendors/suppliers.
  • Generate reports using various Microsoft software applications and other Business Intelligence and ERP system tools.
  • Responsible for placing purchase orders with vendors.
  • Assist with maintaining specific departmental components of the supply chain, such as inventory tracking, vendor management, process issues, information technology, and related areas
  • Responsible for communicating with the sales team/customer service department on backorders.
  • Resolve inventory discrepancy issues with vendors.
  • Help maintain ERP system costs in our system.
  • Develop strategies to lower costs on items with vendors.
  • Research alternate vendors to substitute products where needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.




  • Attention to detail: accurate data entry skills, basic math & reading skills
  • Use of proper English grammar, written and verbal
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug test
  • Bachelor's Degree is required




  • 1 + year of purchasing/supply chain experience
