Customer Service Representative (Industrial Distribution Sales)

As a Customer Service Representative, you will provide customers with expert assistance to a wide variety of questions and problems. Build ongoing business relationships with our customers through repeated contact and consultation. As this is a service and parts center, our ability to get customers’ business often depends on your ability to quickly and efficiently provide them with just the right parts and/or solutions – especially when customers are experiencing costly equipment breakdowns. You will also occasionally have hands-on duties that will require mechanical aptitude.
 

Your specific duties in this role will include:

  • Assisting customers by phone, email, and in person at our facility
  • Helping customers get the parts they need
  • Interacting extensively with customers to clarify their needs, research, and recommend parts
  • Meeting or exceeding monthly sales goals while increasing customer satisfaction
  • Providing quotes
  • Taking orders
  • Providing post order service
  • Physically measuring specs on a wide variety of parts
  • Pulling orders / putting away stock
  • Delivering products / orders to customers as needed
     

Requirements:

Our Customer Service Representatives are self-motivated and driven by a desire to exceed expectations. Use your strong prioritization and multitasking skills, sense of urgency regarding customer follow-ups, and sense of humor. The right attitude where customer is king and teamwork prevails is key.
 

Specific qualifications for the role include:

  • 1+ year proven customer service, inside sales, or purchasing experience preferably in an industrial parts or counter sales environment
  • Mechanical and mathematical aptitude
  • Excellent telephone skills and English (verbal, written, grammar)`
  • Ability and desire to learn new systems and processes quickly
  • Multi-tasking, problem solving, attention to detail, sense of urgency, sense of humor
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly Excel
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record (MVR)
  • Bilingual English / Spanish a plus
  • SAP / ERP experience a plus
  • Knowledge of industrial distribution products and hydraulics, preferred
