This position is responsible for strategically managing the distribution center warehouse.

Job Description

  • Instructs and directs warehouse personnel to achieve and maintain a high level of service to Service Centers and customers; including timely responses to inquiries concerning on-time, error-free shipments and responding to needs with exceptional service.
  • Receives and responds to Service Center inquiries regarding incorrect shipments, routine changes, and order expediting.
  • Contacts carrier representatives to resolve service and damages material problems.
  • Builds strong relationships with customers and effectively manages customer expectations.
  • Maintains a constant focus on Lean fundamentals, continuous improvement and continuous learning to improve performance, quality and efficiency of work processes; Engages associates in identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Assists in preparing the annual budget and monitoring expenses.
  • Works with vendor representatives on improper packaging and logistic processes that optimize supply chain management.
  • Coordinates the routing of shipments by consolidating orders to maximize savings.
  • Leads and makes decisions based on customer requirements while adding value and maximizing profitability.
  • Responsible for all warehouse functions including, but not limited to: reviewing, checking, verifying or approving a variety of warehouse documents including packing slips, bills of lading, freight bills, invoices, time sheets, equipment maintenance data and other records.
  • Coordinates warehouse operations including receipt of parts and materials from vendors and service centers, proper shelving of received materials, and determination of schedules and priorities in pulling emergency, backorder and stock orders.
  • Reduces complexity; drives standardization in our data and processes; delivers on customer expectations and eliminates waste.
  • Monitors key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed.

Job Requirements

  • Equivalent to two-four years college study in business and supply chain methods.
  • Business and/or Functional Skills/ Knowledge:
  • Persuasive communicator / strong facilitator / structured and logical thinker
  • People management skills including the ability to lead and motivate others
  • Strong decision making and ability to implement process improvement initiatives
  • Solid computer skills: Excel, Power Point, Access, etc.
  • WMS experience preferred
  • Lean background preferred
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Ability to challenge the status quo
  • Self-directed, proven leader
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Can successfully multi-task
  • Possesses a “Can Do” attitude
  • Team player
  • Experience (years): Three to five years’ experience in supervisory or management position.
