Our Customer Sales & Service Representatives (Inside Sales) represent Applied Industrial Technologies as the front line of service to our customers.  Each day, our CSSRs spend the majority of their time working directly with our customers. Our CSSR’s are responsible for handling a variety of tasks some of which are listed below. In this role one has the opportunity to develop strong relationships with customers, peers, vendors and associates from various internal departments.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to customer inquiries, provide quotes, process customer orders
  • Source and procure products from Applied warehouses and vendor locations
  • Look for opportunities to generate add-on sales and sell promotional items
  • Expedite customer backorders
  • Assist, as needed, with pulling inventory and preparing shipments
  • Assist with customer returns

 

Requirements

Our Customer Service Representatives are self-motivated and driven by a desire to exceed expectations. They have strong prioritization and multitasking skill, a sense of urgency, and display excellent verbal and written communication. Interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport, build solid relationships with a wide variety of customers are critical.

 

Essential Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum 6 months of customer service experience
  • Reliable, organized, & detail oriented
  • Excellent telephone skills
  • Willingness to learn
  • Self starter with a good work ethic
  • Strong computer skills, particularly MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • High school diploma or equivalent

 

Preferred (not required) Qualifications:

 

  • Industrial Distribution experience
  • SAP experience
  • Storeroom management
