The Master Data Manager will focus on improving data integrity and speed to serve while helping to implement and ensure adherence to governance policies that impacts supply chain and sales effectiveness, financial performance of the business, and customer perception. This role entails acting proactively to ensure efficient team operations and effective collaboration. The Master Data Manager will manage and provide effective guidance to the team of Master Data Analysts responsible for new customer accounts, customer account maintenance, customer hierarchy, customer consignments, new vendor accounts, and vendor account maintenance. The position will be responsible for directly supervising and motivating team members on a daily basis.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing creation and maintenance of customer and vendor data working with service centers, various departments, and multiple business units to ensure data quality, integrity, compliance with data governance policies, and that ongoing data validity is a sustained asset in the organization.
  • Driving operational efficiencies and financial returns by continuously improving processes and ensuring that data is used the right way the first time.
  • Influences the customer and vendor master data in the organization, supported in SAP, by actively and effectively managing the processes and standards that support and enable key business processes.
  • Help identify & drive continuous improvements to the data processes that improve consistency, data integrity, speed to serve, and eliminate waste.
  • Developing and driving partnerships with key stakeholders to address critical topics such as data quality, service levels, policies, and standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all customer and vendor master data approval processes and policies in accordance with audit team.
  • Assist team members in creating & maintaining the customer and vendor master data. Help to research the root cause of errors, process, and data integrity issues and provide resolution.
  • Contribute to improve working methods for day-to-day processes including monitoring the workflow processes for new data and maintenance requests, ensuring quality and lead-times meet internal customers’ expectations.
  • Providing customer and vendor master data subject matter expertise to various project teams and business partners.
  • Reviewing and overseeing data cleansing procedures to drive efficient and effective purchasing and sales processes.
  • Coach, counsel, and provide opportunities for personal growth among the Master Data Analysts. Discover training needs.
  • Drive team goals. Delegate tasks and set deadlines.
  • Monitor team performance & report on metrics.


Job Requirements

  • High School Education or Equivalent is required; Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or other related field preferred.
  • Proven self-motivated leader with the ability to establish direction, motivate team members, coach, and encourage improvement
  • Strong PC and analytical skills, including ability to analyze mass amounts of data, formulate action plans, and successfully execute plans
  • Solid problem solving approach and results oriented
  • Good process orientation and detail focus
  • Proficiency in SAP, preferred
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and drive collaboration across the organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills
  • Proactive, ability to multitask, organize, & challenge the status quo
