Applied Industrial Technologies is currently recruiting a Payroll Manager to be responsible for overseeing Payroll staff and for the Payroll process. Their duties include hiring and training Payroll Specialists, coordinating with the Finance and HR departments to process payroll for new employees or monitor payroll schedules and managing employee benefits and insurance plans.



  • Accomplishes department objectives by managing staff; planning and evaluating Payroll department activities.
  • Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
  • Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
  • Processing payroll for both exempt and non-exempt employees.
  • Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely and when needed, resolves any payroll errors.
  • Receive and document any necessary approvals prior to processing any non-standard payments.
  • Process accurate and timely year-end reporting (W-2, W-2c, etc.).
  • Work with accounting team to calculate and update any accruals for non-standard payments.
  • Oversees Time & Attendance system setup and time reporting, performing audits as needed.



  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required; Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
  • Three to five years of related experience required.
