Process Improvement Manager

We are currently seeking an experienced person to lead our Process Improvement initiative.  The person will serve as a consultant to the organization by evaluating, planning, and implementing improvements in business processes, including any related IT enhancements, in order to achieve efficiency and quality in the work setting. Primary results will include improved productivity, reduced costs, and best use of the business's resources.  In addition the final product should be a repeatable process that can be replicated across various locations/business units, if applicable.    

 

The person will direct multiple projects and play a key role in influencing change within and across business units. The person will serve as the Finance PCAB (Program Change Approval Board) lead/representative. The person will be required to champion process improvement methodologies across the Organization, build credibility by effectively collaborating and interfacing with business unit leadership, IT resources (including consultants) and stakeholders, identify/design/test/implement relative system improvements, build capability through knowledge sharing and coaching, deploy appropriate methodologies and toolsets and establish a reputation as the internal consultant of choice by senior management for any problem solving or design initiatives.  The person is expected to maintain all organizational and professional ethical standards.  The person will also be required to work independently with considerable latitude for initiative and independent judgment.

 

This position involves limited travel but some travel will be required (including international). Some percentage of this person’s time will be required to assist the Internal Audit department in operational audits, data analysis, special projects and potentially investigations.

 

JOB DUTIES

 

  1. Review current procedures, including identifying and defining issues, conducting interviews, and reviewing documented client processes, procedures and controls (via narratives and flowcharts). 
  2. Identify and evaluate the organization’s risk areas and provide key input to the development of a more desired process which includes the incorporation of adequately designed internal controls, if applicable.
  3. Support process team in identifying, verifying, analyzing, and implementing process improvement and process re-engineering opportunities.  Challenges the status quo to deliver agreed goals.
  4. Serve as the Financial Lead on the PCAB team with responsibilities for staying apprised of all projects and impact to financial processes, prioritizing financial process improvements [including JIRA’s (i.e. program changes/fixes)] and serving as general Subject Matter Expert for researching SAP transactions.
  5. Provide technical and analytical support for process improvement initiatives.
  6. Develop process analysis and re-engineering to improve efficiency, lower costs and improve product quality.
  7. Communicate effectively with business unit management, senior management and other company personnel providing status updates, as required, on the various process improvement projects.
  8. Present findings and recommendations with confidence and communicating these to sponsors and key stakeholders
  9. Facilitate the design and implementation of new/improved process models and organizational structures.
  10. Train and guide resources in process improvement techniques.
  11. Manage and lead process team to achieve desired results.
  12. Perform project management, analytics and standard operating procedures to ensure milestones are met and deliverables achieved.
  13. Coordinate with various teams to analyze project results and performance.
  14. Identify and manage resources to deliver effective solutions.
  15. Obtain firm understanding of Applied policies and procedures and ensure that the team works in accordance with the approved company operating policies, procedures, practices and methods.
  16. Ensure final deliverables are prepared in a manner that clearly and concisely communicates results to management and the audit committee. 
  17. Work closely with other departments, especially Internal Audit, Finance and IT, or divisions on matters of mutual concern and responsibilities.
  18. Demonstrating commitment to continuous career development and growth.
  19. Travel as needed to conduct process improvements (both domestic and international).
  20. Assist in other duties as required, such as developing and/or updating operational audit programs, data analysis, management-requested projects, investigations and other duties as required by audit management.

     

     

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

     

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business (major in Business Management, Accounting or related fields).  Advanced degree preferred.
  • Professional Certification with active status is preferred:  Lean/Six Sigma, Project Management Professional (PMP); Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) a plus.
  • Approximately 6+ years’ experience using leading methodologies and processes.
  • Experience managing multiple parties on innovative solutions.
  • Proven leadership experience in driving continuous improvement and developing people.
  • Ability to effectively manage and develop employees in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Considerable knowledge of, and skill in, understanding business processes and objectives.
  • Skill in collecting and analyzing complex data, evaluating information and systems, drawing logical conclusions and proven ability to translate data into meaningful analysis.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Experience with SAP preferred
