Vendor Rebate Accountant

The Rebate Staff Accountant is responsible for processing Vendor Rebate payments and making necessary adjustments for both US and Canada, work together with finance team to ensure month/quarter end requirements are completed in timely manner and provide support to management team as necessary.   

 

 Job Duties

  • Responsible for accurately maintaining Contract Repository while ensuring all rebate program adjustments are conducted in accordance with contract requirements
  • Monitor and review the Rebate accruals for accuracy by reconciling against vendor statements and reviewing for appropriateness
  • Process payments received from vendors and adjust accruals as needed based on payments received.
  • Create month end journal entries and perform rebate account reconciliations in Blackline, while ensuring accuracy and documenting the supporting evidence.
  • Perform and assist management with monthly/quarterly close requirements and process Ad hoc reports.
  • Provide support for enhancing the company’s Vendor Rebate system, and assists in developing new functionality to streamline and enhance rebate accrual calculation process.
  • Provide support in maintaining and updating accurate work instructions, narratives and other required Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Generate and distribute Rebate reports as required and produce ad hoc reporting when requested.
  • Interacting with Internal and External auditors as necessary to complete audit requirements.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 2+ years related work experience
  • Prior experience in rebate accounting (preferred)
